Life Drawing with the iPad Pro & Apple Pencil

In my weekly drawing session with the model I like to switch it up sometimes and work digitally on the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil. Here I’m using the app Sketches which has a feature where you can draw shapes of colour &/or pattern very quickly. I find this is really helpful in training the eye to simplify and to read shapes well. These are all around 5-7 minutes so the fact that I can work quickly with this medium is ideal. Using pattern in this way also creates new ideas when working in the studio with paint.
